Mercedes-Benz Dealers Present Facts about the ML-Class

We’ve written a lot about the ML-Class vehicles that you can find at your local Mercedes-Benz dealer in Princeton, NJ and elsewhere in the area. But in many of those posts, we just assume everybody knows what the ML-Class is. This post provides some basic information about the ML-Class available at Mercedes-Benz dealers across the nation.

• The ML-Class, or the M-Class as it’s more commonly known, is a mid-size SUV in the luxury segment. Mercedes-Benz has been producing this vehicle since 1997 and it became the company’s shift into becoming a competitor in the global auto market.
• The M-Class vehicles were the first luxury SUVs that featured a stability control system. This system helps the driver maintain control during emergency situations by using selective braking. It makes it easier to regain the vehicle’s intended course instead of skidding out of control. Recently, this type of feature has been shown to reduce accidents by about 30 percent.
• In addition to stability control features, the M-Class also included front and side airbags. There was also a feature that detected the weight and size of the person in the front seat so it could control the amount of pressure in the airbag in case of a collision. This helps protect smaller passengers like children more efficiently than normal airbags.

Those are just a few innovations from the ML-Class that you can get at your local Mercedes-Benz dealer. Check one out today and see why they’re still one of the most popular luxury SUVs on the market!

Although nothing is every completely safe in the world in which we live, there are some things you can do to deter would-be criminals. Always keep your car doors locked. This might seem like common sense, but you’d be surprised how many cars are stolen or vandalized simply because the doors were not locked.

Keep your keys with you. Did you know that about 20 percent of car thefts are due to the fact that the owner left the keys in the car? There’s just no excuse for that.

Never put anything valuable in plain sight. Hide anything of value in the trunk or under the seat. Purses, CDs and anything else that criminals would want should always be hidden.

Don’t hide a spare key anywhere on your car. Do you think you’re the only person clever enough to find the spare key you have hidden in that secret spot? Thieves know all the hiding places and they don’t mind looking.

Some Tips for Fall TLC for Buick Used Cars

For those owners of Buick used cars that live in some of the cold states, it’s about that time. That’s right – it’s time for some preventative fall maintenance before the winter hits. It’s important to take care of your Buick used cars before the first snowfall because you will not want to get out in the cold weather and do these things. Here are some things to keep in mind before Old Man Winter starts blowing.

Check your battery. Batteries tend to be less efficient during the colder months of the year. Some of them will even die on you at the most inconvenient times (I’ve learned this one the hard way). Get your battery checked for free at Autozone or another auto parts store and avoid the costly towing charges and getting stuck somewhere for hours.

Check your brakes. You should keep your brakes in tip-top condition throughout the year. However, it’s even more important to make sure they’re in good working order if you’re going to be driving through the slush and the snow. Getting them changed before signs of trouble will save you money in the long run anyways.

Check your wipers. These are usually forgotten parts of the car, but they are so important. Make sure they don’t have any cracks in them before winter hits. If they are leaving streaks or smears on your windshield, replace them. It’s easy and inexpensive.

These are just a few tips for preparing your Buick used cars for the cold months ahead. If you have any questions, you can take your car to the service center of your local Buick dealer and get a full checkup just to be safe.

PA Dealers Welcome Grateful Dead to “Rock the Vote”

As a representative of your local PA dealers, I don’t like to get political on this blog. This isn’t the time or place to try to sway somebody’s vote either way. But when important political events occur in or around the state, your PA dealers want to recognize them. This is one of those events.

On Monday night, remaining members of the legendary Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers Band came together at the Bryce Jordan Center to increase awareness of the importance of voting. I’ll give you two chances to guess who they are supporting.

The musicians from the 60s entertained played on the Penn State University stage for about 15,000 people. That makes me wonder how many people actually remember the names Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Phil Lesh and Bill Kreutzman. However, this was the first time the four musicians got together since 2004, although three of the four did a concert in support for one candidate in California early this year.

Mickey Hart, drawing from his drumming expertise as part of the Grateful Dead, supports his candidate’s views on global warming. “The Grateful Dead does not take this lightly,” he said.

Your PA dealers and your local Buick dealer want to encourage you to get out and vote, too. However, we want you to become an informed voter and vote the way you see fit rather than voting for someone a musician wants you to vote for. I like “The Dead,” but I don’t like when any musician tries to influence the way someone votes.

The “big day” is less than three weeks away. Mark it on your calendar and don’t forget!

Pennsylvania Auto Dealers Present Info about New Cell Software

A new piece of software for your mobile device helps to prevent drivers from making phone calls or texting while driving. The technology, which was created by a Canadian company, was recently unveiled and your Pennsylvania auto dealers want you to know about it.

The software is dubbed DriveAssist and it was created by Aegis Mobility. The company describes it as “advanced call management technology” and it works as a type of “virtual secretary.” If you have your mobile device with you in a moving car, the software intercepts any incoming calls or texts and lets the person know that you are not available. The caller can either leave a message or call back later. In addition, the software may also tell the caller where the person is through GPS technology.

The software detects when a user is moving at speeds typical of automobile speeds. It’s meant to keep drivers safe by not distracting them with phone calls or texts. However, callers can bypass the technology by indicating the call or text is an emergency.

Currently, the company that created the software is working with cell phone carriers to make the service available as a subscription-based service. With this technology, you can drive away from your local Mercedes-Benz dealer without worrying about your phone ringing and distracting your when you need to concentrate on the road in front of you.

Local Buick Auto Dealers Doing Better than Media Reports

It’s well-known that the media tends to dwell on the negative and even exaggerate the news at times. So when the news and media outlets say that local car dealerships are doing horrible, your local Buick auto dealers disagree.

It is true that car sales have fallen in recent month. As a result, the car companies are feeling the pinch. But your Buick auto dealers want you to know that it’s not as bad as it sounds. And even though times are tighter than usual, that’s not always a bad thing.

Rick Cole, the director of auto sales nationally, said that the media doesn’t accurately reflect what’s happening at the smaller car lots across the nation. “We’re not seeing what we’re hearing in the news media,” he stated. “If you’re out here in the marketplace…[local dealerships are] not seeing a lot of difference.” In fact, some local Buick auto dealers and other manufacturers are selling more cars than ever. Cole also said that you may notice several local dealerships closing in the months to come, but that’s only because the automakers want to streamline their business and consolidate their resources. As a result, they are buying many dealers out and closing up shop in smaller towns and cities.

Now is the perfect time to visit your local Buick dealer and get behind the wheel of a luxurious vehicle. Check one out now!

Presenting the All-New 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

The new 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL Class, which is available at your local Mercedes-Benz dealers, is an improvement over the 2008 models. According to this Edmunds review, it seems like the engineers and designers of the 2009 model addressed every concern that driver had with the previous year’s model to make the SL-Class one of the best ever made.

One of the major changes you’ll see on many of the 2009 models is the new design in the front. It’s more “aggressive” and sportier than the earlier model which seemed more like a “trophy wife crowd” rather than a crowd that would take Mercedes-Benz seriously. In addition to that, the newest model has upgraded suspension and steering as well as an Active Body Control system to keep the car hugging the road even in the curviest of situations.

The new SL-Class also shares a similar engine to the one that Mercedes uses for AMG models. This 6.2-liter V8 engine has a seven-speed automatic manual transmission. It has “lightning-quick shifts” without the jerking motions of some other automated manual transmissions.

Of course, within this class are several styles and trims. We’ll address those in a future blog and pick out some differences and improvements on particular styles. Or you can visit your local Mercedes-Benz dealer and check out the differences in person for a much better perspective.

PA Used Car Dealers Present Part 2 of Spotting an Amateur Mechanic

On Wednesday, your PA used car dealers gave you a few suggestions to help you spot amateur mechanics that may not fix your car right. Here are some more ways to determine if your mechanic is either “wet behind the ears” or if they are just trying to take advantage of you.

Ask the mechanic to explain anything you don’t understand. If your mechanic is hesitant to explain any procedures or if they seem annoyed, don’t be afraid to go somewhere else. They might not be trying to scam you, but you sill want someone with whom you are comfortable.

Check the final billing against the original billing or estimate. Unfortunately, you have to wait until the mechanic repairs your car before you can use this suggestion. However, if there are many repairs or discrepancies in the two bills, ask the mechanic to explain and possibly take the questionable charges off the bill. If they won’t do this, you may need to seek representation.

Have another mechanic check the work. If you notice that something is still wrong with your car after leaving the repair shop, ask another mechanic for their opinion before approaching the one that did the work. This will help you know what’s causing the problem and if the mechanic is the reason for it before making a fool of yourself.

One of the best tips your PA used car dealers can give you, however, is to purchase a new or certified vehicle from your local Mercedes-Benz dealer. If you do this, you won’t have to worry about mechanics for a long, long time.

Dealers of Buick Used Cars Offer Tips before Going to the Mechanic

Buick used cars are some of the best cars on the road. I was just telling my wife the other day that Buick makes an awesome car and that’s why you see so many older Buick used cars on the road. But from time to time, you may need to visit your local mechanic with your Buick used cars for routine maintenance or other repairs. If so, here are some things you should know before talking to the mechanic.

Know your vehicle’s information. Before you talk to a mechanic, you need to know your car’s make, year, model and engine size. Mechanics can’t even give you an estimate or tell you what’s wrong if you don’t this basic information. If you’ve had an oil change recently, you can usually find this information on the receipt. Otherwise, there are stickers on the inside of the door and underneath the hood usually that will tell you.

Know what’s wrong with your car. I don’t mean that you should have your car diagnosed before visiting a mechanic. I do mean you should be able to describe the reason you’re coming to the mechanic. If you smell burning rubber, describe when this happens. If it’s because of a funny noise, be sure to listen so you can describe this accurately.

The service station at your local Buick dealer is more than happy to check out any problems you’re having with your car. Visit one today to make sure your Buick used cars are running in tip-top shape!

Pennsylvania Auto Dealers Present Tips for Spotting an Amateur Mechanic

Your Pennsylvania auto dealers strive to provide tips and suggestions to help you in every aspect of car ownership and maintenance. Today, your Pennsylvania auto dealers want to give you some tips on how to spot an amateur mechanic before you get some shoddy work done.

Research your car before going to the mechanic. If you still have the owner’s manual to your car, read it from front to back. Learn as much about your car before you go to the mechanic so you will know if they are trying to sell you something that doesn’t belong in your car. Also, memorize the maintenance schedule so you’ll know if you’re due for some preventative procedures instead of agreeing to it thousands of miles in advance.

Look for second opinions. Reputable mechanics shouldn’t get offended or angry if you take your car somewhere else for a second opinion. When you go to a second mechanic, don’t tell them what the previous mechanic said just so you can get an accurate opinion. If they contradict each other, consider taking your car for a third opinion.

Ask a lot of questions. Don’t just take what the mechanic says for granted. Ask why you need certain parts and services and how much it’s going to cost. Ask them for a list of parts and the cost for each and do your own research before agreeing to the repairs. If they are grossly overcharging for parts, try going somewhere else.

This isn’t to say that all mechanics are out to scam people. However, there are a few that ruin it for everybody else. Of course, you could forget about all this trouble and get a new or certified used car at your local Mercedes-Benz dealer.
